Ingredients:
Green Peas: 1 cup (I used canned peas. You could also use frozen ones. Ensure to defrost them before use)
Onions: 1 small size
Green Chilli: 2-3 (depending on your taste)
Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1/2 spoon
Cumin Seeds: 1 spoon
Bay Leaves: 1-2
Butter/Ghee: 1 spoon
Fresh Cream or Milk: 1/4 cup
Salt: as per taste
Method:
Minute 1:
Place a pot on medium heat. Add in butter to melt.
Peel and finely chop onions.
Add Cumin Seeds and bay leaves to the pot and sauté.
Minute 2 -3:
Add in chopped onions to the pot and sauté till it turns light pink.
Meanwhile, blend together green peas and Chillies to form a puree.
Minute 4:
Add ginger-garlic paste to the pot and sauté till the fresh aroma of the paste goes away.
Minute 5 and 6:
Add the peas puree to the pot. Season with salt as per your taste.
Stir continuously. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Remove Bay Leaves and discard.
Minute 7:
Stir in fresh cream or milk. Turn off the heat.
Soup is ready! Serve it hot with a swirl of cream.
